Day 84

The 90 degree weather didn't stop me and my three friends from heading out onto the golf course for our Thursday women's golf league. Of course, I was never so happy to feel the wind hit my face as we each raised our arms out like an airplane to cool down. On hole number six, I pulled out my driver, took a swing and watched as my ball landed on the the green. Getting on there in one swing was my first first today. The hole, a par three, was about forty feet from my ball. I was hoping my putter would be my best friend at that moment. So as the crowd became hushed, (well there really was no crowd but I like imagining it) I hit the ball and it passed the hole off the green into the grass. It wasn't looking good. I took the long walk to where my ball rested. The pitching wedge is not my club of choice but in this case I had no other option. I took a short swing, tapped the ball and watched it follow the arc of a rainbow. If the flag was not still in the hole, my ball would have landed in the hole, my pot of gold. But according to golfing rules, my friends told me that when this happens, it's the same as sinking the ball. So...my second first today was sccoring par on this hole.

Hooray for you! As a 58yr old something I find your countdown very interesting. At the end of the 90 days what will the end results be, what do you think you will have learned about life or yourself that you didn't already know. Turning 50 for me was a bit of a challenge. Turning 55 was a joy. As I approach 60 I'm having the time of my life. But then i've kind of always looked at life as a day to day adventure. And at some point in your life you just don't give a shit about all the politics of life.

Your writing lends great insight to your life and your words are very poetic and full of imagery.

I think Forrest Gump said it best when he stated "life is like a box of chocolates..." you really don't know what your going to experience until you're in the moment. Once you find yourself in that moment of time it's up to you to savor and appreciate it.
